How to Coordinate Patterns When Decorating a Room:
  1. Chose a color scheme.

  2. Chose a carpet. If the carpet is a geometric pattern such as a trellis, then chose the opposite such as a floral for the wallpaper. If the carpet is a floral type pattern then chose the opposite such as a stripe for the wallpaper.

  3. Chose a fabric with a different type of pattern than the walls as your main fabric. Chose other fabrics with varying size repeats to use as accents.

  4. For example, to do a blue & yellow girls room chose the following decorating products: Langhorne Wilton Weave Wool Lattice Carpet with White Lattice on Blue Ground, F. Schumacher & Co. WAVERLY (R) floral wallpaper with Yellow & Blue Flowers on White Ground, Motif Designs ROSIE (R) fabric in Yellow Plaid.
